How often do I need to service my press?
An Etching Press needs to be serviced once a year.
How do I prevent my Etching Press from rusting ?
In a coastal environment the Press needs to be covered with a tarp or a plastic cover. Get an aerosol oil to spray the non-powder coated areas, after doing this, wipe these areas with a cloth before covering the Press.
My Press bed is bending upwards?
This will happen after a while. The reason for this is the one directional movement and pressure of the rollers. Unlike cast iron, steel is not ‘dead’. To counter this, the steel bed plate needs to be turned upside down every six months. It will be necessary to invest in a new plate after a couple of years.
How do I tension the chain on my Etching press ?
First remove the gearbox cover using a flat screwdriver. On the inside you will see two 19mm setscrews holding the gearbox to the side plate. Loosen these two setscrews with a 19mm spanner. Pull the gearbox to tension the chain. Fasten the setscrews and put the cover back.
How do I prevent damage to my Press roller?
Never roll any metal like nails, coins or anything with the same hardness as steel through the rollers.
What is the difference between the E-Range and the P-Range of etching Presses?
The P-Range are heavy duty Presses with double roller bearings to withstand high pressures. Dials and Press bed guide bearings are standard features. These presses are designed for high volume production.

The E-Range is in no way inferior to the P-range, in fact many more E-Range presses are sold.

How do I decide on which Press to buy?
There are a couple of things to consider.
 How much space is available for the Press.
 How much do I want to spend on a Press.
 How big do I want to print.
 Must the Press be portable.
